# JSDO

There is `progress.jsdo.js` and the `xpower.jsdo.js` files. The latter requires the previous. 

The current version of the `xpower.jsdo.js` file that we execute in our projects is already a modified version of the original file, mostly because the original was dependant and tangled with specific display logic, and thus we had to perform several adaptations in order to have the logic running server-side. All the changes performed can be see within source control.

Current problems of depending on the `jsdo` file:

- To work server-side, we have our own version, which prevents future updates from Xpower being reflected in our projects.
- The `xpower.jsdo.js` is running on different javascript version and thus requires us to have it on a different build process for it.
- Even with our changes, there is still considerable code in the jsdo file specific to UI representation and manipulation.
- The jsdo assumes we want to manipulate Progress Data Objects, which we do not, as we are not interested in interacting with the framework but only with the data.
